2012 or haganuz “namura” single vineyard special reserve cabernet sauvignon
91 Points Robert Parker & Wine Enthusiast
Or Haganuz is much more than just a winery. It is a unique community, with a vision crafted by Talmudic sage Rabbi Akiva, “Do not do unto others as you would not have them do unto you.” With this vision in mind, the Or Haganuz village and community lead a full, observant and productive Jewish life, combining study of Talmud and Kabbalah with work at various businesses established and developed by the community, including, of course, the winery. The 2012 “Namura” Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a high quality boutique wine, grown from the tiny Namura vineyard 800 meters above sea level. Soil here is terra rosa, with a western-facing slop with a steep incline. The fruit is aged 24 months in French oak. Extensive finish and structure, this wine is filled with aromas of dark chocolate and deep red raspberry. On the palate the wine coats lusciousness of chocolate, berry, leather and a savoriness that is truly pleasant. Kosher, Kosher for Passover. Only 3,500 bottles produced.
