90 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate!

From our friends at Bat Shlomo Vineyards, located along the historic Rothschild wine trail in Israel’s Upper Galilee comes this wonderful blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (92%) and Cabernet Franc (8%). The wine is aged for 20 months in a 70/30 mixture of new and used French oak. It’s sourced from a mixture of Galil and Carmel Mountain Range vineyards. According to Mark Squires, writing for Parker’s Wine Advocate in 2015, this is a “typically seductive bottling. It opens with a touch of jam and cream, but (Squires) was surprised how quickly the jam fell off and the wine began to show a backbone, better balance and a more serious demeanor.  A bit more vivid in flavor than the ’13, but probably better structured and focused than the ’12, this is another interesting moment in this young bottling’s evolution. It is relatively easy to drink young, but hardly perfect just now.  If you can give this a year or two in the cellar (that’s now, folks!) it will really help. It will probably be firing on all cylinders around 2020, even if approachable sooner (woohoo!) It may yet be entitled to an uptick in score if it develops as well as I suspect, but let’s be a bit conservative just now.” Kosher, Kosher for Passover.
