Established by Chris Christensen in 2011, Bodkin Wines has been making award-winning, affordable wines since their inception. The 2016 Hotspur Rosé of Syrah, sourced from a single-vineyard in the Russian River Valley, is nutty, meaty and complex. It is direct pressed, fermented dry and aged sur-lie in neutral French oak for three months. It is crisp, high-toned wine, offering food-friendly elegance and refreshment, while teasing in savory hints of earthiness. Balanced and dry, it continues to impress as it glides along in the glass. 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Named after Sir Henry “Hotspur” Percy, who led a rebellion against King Henry IV that ended with his death by a bodkin pointed arrow at the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403.
