Description

Sustainable Israeli Red

Golan Heights Winery, Israel’s leading producer of quality wines, was established in 1983 by four kibbutzim and four moshavim (cooperative communities). The Winery is actively supporting the community and the environment in northern Israel in general, and in the Golan Heights in particular. One of the Winery’s most important initiatives in the area of sustainability was the recent receipt of accreditation by the respected LODI RULES Sustainable Winegrowing Program.

The 2018 Mount Hermon Red is a blend of the classic Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The wine’s grapes were harvested from vineyards located on the Golan Heights. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation, and was bottled without sterile filtration.

The wine displays attractive cherry and berry fruit characters, along with complex notes of herbs, spice, violets and earth. This flavorful blend makes for great everyday enjoyment.

Ready to enjoy now, the 2018 Mount Hermon Red will remain in great drinking condition for about three years from vintage. Try pairing this food-friendly wine with Mediterranean lamb burgers, pasta with a rich ragu, or roasted vegetable moussaka. Kosher, Kosher for Passover.
