Jumilla is a wine DO title of Murcia, a small region on the Mediterranean coast of southeastern Spain. The Jumilla viticultural area is considered to be Murcia’s most important in terms of quantity and quality.

In 1841. Don José de Molina, commander of the Royal Armies stationed in the Spanish colony of Manila (Philippines), decided to return to his land Jumilla. It is then when he names his lands as “Finca Luzón”, in honor of the island where he was so long. This winery would be created for his daughter Ana Josefa de Molina, remaining until the 80s of the 20th century, the inheritance of the land linked to the female branches of the family.

It is here that Bodegas Luzón is producing award winning red wines from the Monastrell grape. Monastrell is a deeply bold, smoky red wine found in abundance in Central Spain and Southern France (where it’s known as Mourvèdre). Monastrell is the “M” in the Rhône / GSM blend.

The 100% organically grown grapes in the 2020 Verdé have a cherry red color with purple background. On the nose, there are very intensive aromas of red ripe fruit and floral hints. Very fruity and fresh on the palate, smooth and tasty. Sweet and mature tannins, balanced acidity and good persistence. Pair with salads, vegetable casseroles, pork, grilled chicken and beef. White and blue fish, rice dishes and pasta, as well as soft and semi matured cheeses.

Certified Organic by ES-ECO.
