2023 Weingut Helenental Grüner Veltliner

$15.00

Spicy Austrian Grüner

The roots of today’s Helenental Kelleri (winery) can be found in the former Retz-Röschitz wine cooperative, founded in 1942 in Weinviertel, Austria’s largest specific wine-growing region (14,001 hectares). The winery is located in the village of Röschitz in the district of Horn in the state of Lower Austria. It is just 10 miles from the Czech border.

The cooperative, home to many award-winning wines, closed in 2013 and the winery is now owned and managed by Walther Schnopfhagen & Manfred Bannert. Walther grew up around the wine business and continues the tradition of collaboration between the region’s winegrowers.

The 2023 Grüner has fresh fruit flavors of apples, grapefruit and pears with spicy-peppery notes that make this variety so unique worldwide. Enjoy by itself or add sparkling water to make it a Spritz!
